New Year...

So far, 2009 has worn me out! Little did I know that holidays with a little one is absolutely exhausting. Throw a gravely-ill dog in the mix, and you've got one surly, moody, and tee-totally-tired mama. Branch was not prepared for all the visitors, dinners, parties, church services, sick dogs, family members, appointments, and all-around schedule de-railers that popped up within the last three weeks. AND, since he was not prepared, he reacted in the way he knew best: NOT SLEEPING. Naps, you say? "What in the world is that, mama? I have people to watch and Merry-Christmas-Trees to look at!," he says.

So, with a baby who won't sleep, and a husband that does it like it's his job, I've become a little not-myself lately. The anxiety has to abade somehow, and I'm hoping that the gym can help me out in that department. Yoga is nice, but I'm hoping that cardio can give me a quicker-fix. I'll update on all that later ;)

I don't know what I'm hoping for, exactly, this new year. There are some no-brainers: get back in my old clothes before I go back to work, (I'm close!), eat better, swim with B once a week, and read more. Those seem generic, but I think about each one everyday. I did make one resolution, though. It was to take a picture of Branch everyday. So far, (yeah, I know it's only the 4th) I'm good on it.

2009 will be so different for Parker and me, I don't know how we can set any real goals... it seems 2009 will be a series of benchmarks for us: me finishing grad school, going back to work, B in day care, vacations, and another school year begins, this time with baby at home...
