Flexible? What?

So, in my last post I mentioned yoga... and I feel I need to elaborate because some major changes have happened since I began this new venture. And, let me say this straight-away: these might not seem major to you, but they are for me.

Lisa and I started yoga-ing in early December. I still feel awkward, and sometimes off-balance, BUT, I'm starting to do things I've never EVER done before...

mainly:

touch my toes, and the bottom of my feet, while sitting on my backside, with legs straight out;

touch the floor with my entire palm from a standing position, bent at the waist, straight-legged;

These two are things I never thought possible! After all, I was the girl in gym class in school that for the V-sit reach, couldn't even reach the ruler to start measuring. No kidding.

I'm not able to do my new 'feats' cold- I have to warm up, and can do them after working a bit... but nevertheless, I'm there by the end of class. I can't believe I might actually become a flexible person through all this, and I'm tickled pink :)

I'm also dabbling in Pilates, and taking advantage of class while I'm home with Branch and not working. It's hard, but incredibly satisfying. I don't leave all sweaty and red-faced, but, just as sore as step makes me, just in my core... where I'm needing the most help (thank you, little guy).

BUT. AND THIS IS MAJOR: I wore my first pair of pre-pregnancy jeans last night! Hoo-ah!

I was amazed at how flexible I got with just a few weeks of yoga. It took me a little longer to notice that I wasn't tripping over my feet all the time anymore. Balance is a plus, too.
